The purpose of the present study was to investigate “the effect of various field grounds on sprint values of athletes”.
It is considered that field grounds can influence different motoric abilities. At the School of Physical Education
and Sports in Afyon Kocatepe University, healthy and voluntary athletes including 20 men and 20 women were
invited to this study. Sprint measurements were recorded on various fields as 5-meter, 10-meter, 15-meter and 30-
meter sprint distances at the School of Physical Education and Sports in Afyon Kocatepe University.
Measurements were obtained with a one-day interval on three different grounds in the order of synthetic grass
field, tartan track and parqued flood field. The measurements were recorded through the photocell technique in
the computer environment. Pulse values were controlled with a polar watch. In SPSS 20 program, obtained results
were evaluated through Anova method at a level of significance of p<0,05. It was revealed that there were
statistically significant differences at 5-meter, 10-meter and 30-meter speed ratings of various grounds at the levels
of 0,05 and 0,01. It could be stated that environments minimizing the subsidence of ground affect speed positively.

doi: 10.22326/ijass.8  Sayfalar 11 - 24
The most often seen psychological problem is found as a depression in universty students. It causes to lose his fertility, to lose quality of his life. In addition this must be under debate as a public health problem. We aimed in our works to compare depression level of students who are settled in Cumhuriyet University with Central Exam System with students who are settled in Cumhuriyet University with Private Ability Exam. Also we aimed to explain the relation with socio demography depression level of students and their form of settling in the University. It is a descriptive work. 570 students joined this work. 58% (330) of them are students who were settled in with Central Exam System and %42 (240) of them are students who were settled in with Private Ability Exam. These students are selected from faculty, department, class, gender comparatively with stratum and passing sampling method. The data was collected with survey application and the beck depression scale was used to crystallize depression level. At the end of studies, we determined %25.6 students of contained the studies have depression. We determined depression on %26.4 students who came to University with Central Exam System and %24.6 students who came with Private Ability Exam. The average depression mark is found 12,55 on students that joined to the investigation. Age, gender, education level of father and mother, job of father and mother, economical level of family, dwelling place of family, social insurance, number of sibling, dwelling place of student, wanting to see the doctor when he / she felt physiological problem, activities, are found unimportant as a statistic. The different about study in Sivas, desire to join social activities, desire to study in settled department are found important.

The Effects Of Different Kinds Of Warm-Up Protocols Before Triceps Dips Exercise On Muscle Electrical Activation During The Training
Hasan Sözen, Fabio Esposıto
doi: 10.22326/ijass.3  Sayfalar 25 - 35
This study is to investigate the effects on regional warm-up protocols right before the strength workout on muscle
electrical activities during the contraction. For this purpose, 44 healthy volunteers are included (22 female age:
19.9 yrs ±1.7, weight: 54.1 ±8.2, height: 165.3 ±6.3; 22 male age: 20.7 yrs ±1.7, weight: 68.4 ±10.1, height: 173.2
±6.11). As strength workout method, 3 sets 10 repetitive triceps dips movement was used. Work schedule was
decided to be 5 days, and on the first day, maximum isometric voluntary contraction (MIVC) of participants during
triceps dips movement was determined. This value is important in normalizing the values obtained from other
variables. On the other days, passive (no warm-up), 5 minutes of elliptical trainer, static stretching and massage
warm-up protocols were randomly applied just before the training. During the 3 sets and 10 repetitive triceps dips
movement, electoral activities of the muscle were recorded after every one of the sets by using electromyography
(EMG) of triceps muscle of the participant’s dominant arm. For the statistical evaluation, average of the values
from 3 sets was used. For statistical analyzes, ANOVA test and independent samples t-test were used. As a result,
it was found that warm-up protocols make no difference in muscle electrical activation (p>0.05). But when it
comes to the difference of warm-up protocols in genders, it has been found that female participants have more
muscle electrical activation during the exercises after passive, stretching and massage warm-up protocols (p<0.05),
and there is no statistical difference between genders in muscle electoral activation during the exercise after
elliptical trainer warm-up protocols (p>0.05). As a result of the study, it is thought that mixed exercises or more
intensive and active warming protocols before the mixed sports like korfball support the wipeout the difference
between genders in muscle electrical activation.

doi: 10.22326/ijass.4  Sayfalar 36 - 55
This research was done with the aim of determining of the students’ trait anger and anger expression styles
participating in sportive recreational activities in Karamanoglu Mehmetbey University. Descriptive method, one
of the quantitative research methods, was adopted as the search model. Research group consisted of 258 male
athletes who participated in sportive recreational activities. “The State-Trait Anger Scale (STAS)” developed by
Spielberger and adapted into Turkish by Savasır and Sahin in 1997 and “Personal Information Form” which was
developed by researcher in order to determine personal characteristic of athletes, were used as data collection
tool. Unique sample Kolmogorov Smirnov Test was used in order to see whether measurements were proper for
normal dispersion. Kruskal-Wallis Test and Mann Whitney U test were used on analyzing and interpreting of
data since it was a unnormal dispersion and meaningfulness was determined as P<0,05. SPSS 21 (Statistical
package for social sciences) packet programme was used for evaluating data and finding calculated values. It can
be said that the trait anger point average of the athletes participated in the research with (Mean=20,64),
internalized anger point average (Mean=18,42), sub dimension of anger locution, and externalized anger point
average (Mean=18,04) was low but, their controlled anger point average was mid-level with (Ort.=19,38).
Meaningful difference was found in terms of personal characteristic on trait anger and anger types of
participants’ age, class which they study at, place where they live, parents occupation, parents education, Is your
free time enough? and How do you spend your free time? variables, whereas meaningful difference was not
found on active sports situation and sports type variables.

Football As A Tool Of Cultural Imperialism
Ayhan Dever, Erol Bulut
doi: 10.22326/ijass.5  Sayfalar 56 - 67
Societies contact more with each other as a result of the increase in communication possibilities and so we have
called an increasing interaction era as the globalization. Throughout history, there has been mentioned a lot of
good and bad sides of an epoch having the maximum interaction among people. Such high degree of
communication is the source of rapid development that humanity has never before. But, on the other hand, it also
separates societies and causes the loss of cultural aspects that gives society property. Two people live in two
extremes of the World now eat the same things, wear the same things, laugh at the same things and cry for the
same things. In other words, the world has a growing uniformity. Football is one of the consumption habits which
cause this result. Therefore, in this article, we mentioned the relationship between cultural imperialism and
football. The question of what kind of role football takes as a result of cultural imperialism is the article's main
objective.

Analyzing Short And Long Serve In Volleyball Via Superficial Emg
Özgür Dinçer
doi: 10.22326/ijass.9  Sayfalar 85 - 90
It is thought that measuring electrical activities in muscles during sportive performances and analyzing them with
appropriate methods is one of the new approaches. Serving in volleyball is an effective offense technique. If it is
done with the perfect speed, distance and the technique, it can cause opposing team to lose the point directly. In
this regards, we aimed to study the effects of short and long serves associating them to muscle activation. 12 female
volleyball players from minor league of Turkey Volleyball Association participated in this study. Their average of
age was 20,4±1,6. Their muscles activations of M. Deltoideus, M. Deltoideus Anterior, M. Biceps Brachii, M.
Triceps Brachii, Wrist Extensor Group, Wrist Flexor Group which were in shoulders and arms were checked
during short and long serve. The silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) bipolar superficial electromyography electrodes
(Blue sensor P-00-S Ambu, Denmark) were located in the center of the muscles in parallel with muscle fibrils.
Distance between electrodes was 20 mm. They were located in body-muscle points according to Clinical SEMG
Electrode Sites. Before location of electrodes, the skin was sterilized with alcoholic solution to block the artifacts
and it was shaved to make it smooth. The cable was immobilized so that the hit of electrodes could not cause
something adverse. ME 6000 (Mega Electronics Ltd. Finland) portable EMG device was used in muscle activation
measurement. Data sample speed was 1000 Hz. Device was fastened in subject’s waist with a belt. Data were
checked by considering their descriptive statistics in SPSS software, and they were analyzed with Wilcoxon test.
Significant differences in P<0,05 level were found. It was finally found that M.Triceps Brachii muscle worked
more effectively in long serve while M. Deltoideus Anterior muscle worked more effectively in short serve. In
this regard, creating training and technical abilities may give us better results.
